Summer has officially entered the country and that means warm weather, long days and lots of sweating! So it’s important to keep yourself hydrated and nourished, but what do you eat when the temperature keeps going up? You’ll want something refreshing, not to heavy but still something to keep you filled.. We’ll I’ve got the perfect answer for you: smoothie bowls! You may know what a smoothie is, a drink based on fresh juice, fruit and ice or yoghurt. But a smoothie bowl is more of a meal than a drink, perfect to replace your breakfast or lunch. I love to make smoothie bowls with a lot of fresh fruit, juice and nuts combined with natural protein powders from Be So Happy to give your body that extra power to face those hot days. I’ll give you some amazing examples to spark your inspiration and create your own delicious smoothie bowls (thanks to my boyfriend who created the recipes) and I’ll tell you something more about Be So Happy!
Be So Happy: the power of nature
I recently discovered Be So Happy, this new brand wants to inspire everyone to be the best version of themselves. They believe it’s really important to eat healthy in order to reach that goal. Be So Happy focuses on creating delicious foods or drinks with the best available nutrients. They work together with several nutrition experts to ensure the quality and they even travel all over the world to work together with local agriculture. Be So Happy developed a range of products with nothing but good stuff. In this way they want to make your life a little bit easier.
I decided to try their Berry Nice vegan protein shake powder and the Clean Green. You can shake it with water or plant based milk and you can add it to all kinds of food such as waffles, smoothies, pancakes etc. I’ll quickly tell you something more about the natural ingredients!
The Berry Nice only contains good stuff. The main ingredient of the Fit&Shape proteins is pea protein, which is completely plant based and contains 9 essential amino acids. This is super important for healthy hair, skin and nails. The powder also contains:
- Baobab: this is a natural multivitamin and it contains a lot of fibre which helps you feel satisfied for longer. It’s full of antioxidants which help battle free radicals.
- Coconut blossom sugar: A sweetener that doesn’t affect your blood sugar too much but it gives it a sweeter taste.
- Beetroot: beetroot contains a lot fibre and protein. It helps to break down carbs, fat and protein.
- Goji Berries: these berries contain essential vitamins and carotenoids. They are full of vitamin A, C, B1, B2, B6 and carotene.
Summer Smoothie Inspiration
First up is our Berry Nice smoothie bowl:
- Berry Nice Vegan Protein Powder (Powder based on Goji berries for a subtle but present berry flavour and contains less calories than most other protein powders)
- Fresh Strawberries
- Fresh Blueberries
- Fresh Cranberries
- Fresh Juice of your choice
- Assorted Nuts
- Fresh Müsli
- Yoghurt or Ice
Add all fruits together along with one spoonful of Berry Nice Vegan Protein Powder into a blender along with the juice, yoghurt or ice and start blending! When everything is nice and blended to a smooth(ie) mass pour it in a bowl. Now you can start decorating your bowl into a masterpiece. Use plenty of fresh fruit, all sorts of nuts and crushed müsli. And now comes the best part.. Enjoy your bowl! But make sure to snap a lovely picture of your artwork first!
Secondly we’ve got our Clean Vegan Detox smoothie bowl:

- Fresh Berries of your choice
