It’s Saturday and that means: time to get inspired! You may already know how crazy I am for our very own Belgian fashion. So it’s a great thing to be able to support Belgian entrepreneurs (yep, I’m an entrepreneur myself, so I’m all about supporting Belgian newcomers). It just feels good to support someone with their own lovely story, because those big chain stores are already making enough money! And honestly, I don’t want to support mass production. Ever visited a Primark store? Wow, I thought it was awful, the perfect example of mass production: during the sales all clothing pieces are just thrown on the floor and you can’t find anything in the racks because they’re stuffed full. Yep, now you understand why I’m not a fan of big chain stores. That’s why I’m sharing an amazing brand from our very own soil today! Curious? Be sure to read on.
Kylie van Eeckaute: hand painted sweaters
One of my favorite brands from our own soil is Kylie van Eeckhaute. The lady behind this brand started a line of hand painted sweaters. Yes, you read that correctly, hand painted! How unique is that? You can be sure no one else is walking around wearing the same sweater! Besides that, every item is beautifully finished with colored sequins, pearls and other little things. My favorite? The blue sweater with those special sleeves as it’s just oh so unique. And the pink sweater has something as well, because pink is always nice right?
These unique sweaters are available for around 69 euros, not that expensive and definitely worth it! A quick comparison: Zara charges up to 80 euros for an average item, my choice has already been made..
Pssst: if you want to hear it or not, fall will soon be here, August is already flying by and it’s time to invest in good and especially warm sweaters to survive to coming cold in Belgium.
