2019 is knocking on the door, oh how the time flies! I remember that one faithful September day like it was yesterday, when I made the huge decision to become a freelancer. And honestly? It wasn’t a difficult decision, due to the support I received from my parents and I simply love doing it! A while ago I told you all about my cozy workplace (read the article here), now nearly a year and a half has passed and my space received a well deserved upgrade! So today I’ll be telling you all about my must haves as a freelancer!
My Apple products, because I’m a fan!
I’m a true Apple fan. Why? Because it’s simply the best, everything connects automatically and I can access all my files through Icloud. Recently I purchased a Mac as it is much more convenient to edit my photos than on my Macbook Air. The huge Mac screen is handy, especially when planning social media posts, editing articles and photos.
Besides my Mac and Macbook Air, I simply can’t live without my iPhone. I follow all of my clients social media posts, I spend hours checking Instagram and I have a ton of handy apps that keep me organised!
My favorite iPhone apps
- Wunderlist: I use this to create to do lists for my clients. You can add deadlines and check them off when completed. The handy part is that you can share all of your lists with others when working together on a task.
- StoryArt: I recommend using this if you want to get more out of Instagram Stories. This app allows you to create the best lay outs for your Stories, some templates have to be purchased but overall they’re not expensive. You can instantly select a lay out according to themes, simple and quick!
- BlueTens: This one is not much of an app to increase your productivity, or is it? 😉 BlueTens is an app that connects to the BlueTens device, they’re electrodes you place on whatever part of your body is aching and you can stimulate the muscles with electricity. As a freelancer I spend most of the day behind my screens, which does take a toll on my back and neck. So this app alleviates some pain!
- Last but not least, Adobe Lightroom: As a photographer I edit all of my photos using Lightroom, which has a handy Iphone app as well! If you find yourself in need of photography tips, https://www.fotografille.nl/categorie/tips is the place to be. I follow so many photography blogs and I never stop learning!
Notepads all around
As a freelancer there’s one thing I need besides my computers, camera and Iphone: a ton of notepads and a desk planner. I write down all the little things while my complete schedule is on the big screen. Every now and then it still feels good writing stuff down, right? 🙂
Cozy must haves
Throughout the day I work from home, and I don’t have any colleagues (except for when I’m on the road for meetings) which makes it a little cozier. I’m a huge candle fan so every day I’ll light a few, Summer or Winter, they’re always lit. 🙂 I believe that cozyness is the key to productivity, as long as you’re not distracted.
These are my most important must haves as a freelancer. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
