I don’t have to explain the importance of a workspace. I personally believe that a cozy workspace can increase your productivity. Lighting candles, having my agenda on my desk and my favourite cup of tea can really motivate me to do my work! I love to be surrounded by nature and to have natural light in my ‘office’. Today I’m showing you my workspace and some essentials for my freelance carreer. Ready? Here we go!
A decent planner/ agenda is important to keep on track of all the tasks you have to do. Mine is from Stationery Gift . My boyfriend gave it to me as a present for Christmas. Couldn’t be happier! It has a monthly planner/ weekly overviews. Besides my agenda I also have a little notepad with ‘goals coming up’. This one is from Danish webshop Vissevasse. I note down all the tasks I have to do within a week. In this way I have a clear overview of everything I’ve completed already.
I have this marble tray with different candles. I love marble! It has been one of my obsessions of the last couple of years. I use this tray for product photography as well. It’s from Lijns, which is a webshop specialized in all things marble.
The candles are from H&M, not really my store when it comes to clothing (I like the local and smaller shops) but I do love their HOME collection. The black tealight holder is from this brand calles Scentchips. You can mix and match different scent chips to create a scent you like. A nice smell in your office can really calm down mind and it helps me to stay productive all day long.
Music is one of the best things to stay productive! I like to have some ‘background music’ and I found the perfect playlist: Soulection Collection on Spotify. Don’t really know what this genre is, but I’ve been listening to it for the last couple of months. It’s very relaxed and smooth. Perfect to stay focused the entire day!
Besides that I’m also trying to stay organized on my MacBook Air. Working with Dropbox for different clients and organizing everything (so that I don’t have to search for a particular photo or article If they are asking me). I’m also using Microsoft One Note, which is a very good programme if you want to make different ‘tabs’ for all your clients. I’m using Lightroom when I have to edit photos and it’s one of the best tools out there. I did try Photoshop as well but Lightroom is perfect for those who just have to edit colours, add some brightness etc.
Last but not least: the view. Probably the best thing about my little ‘workspace’. I love to be surrounded by nature, it’s the best way to get inspired. This Winter has been dark… No sunny days at all. But whenever I’m working from here, I just feel like I had enough light that day. 😉
How do you stay organized? I would love to hear all of your tips. Leave a comment below! And if you loved this blog post, I would love to hear what you want me to write about next time. More #behindthescenes?
