Leuven, my favourite city in Belgium. August is a really exciting month because new shops/ restaurants are opening their doors in this beautiful city. Atelier Rebul is one of them. This international cosmetics company is entering the Belgian market. They opened their first shops in Ghent and Hasselt and they will be opening a shop in Leuven at the end of August. Today I’m telling you all about it.
The company has been producing skin care products and fragrances since 1895. I do like the story behind brands. Atelier Rebul’s story goes back to 1895. Jean Cesar Reboul, a young French pharmacist, was traveling through Istanbul to visit his father in Trabzon (Turkey). Istanbul kept Jean Cesar’s imagination, the entrepreneur in him was awakened and he decided to open one of Turkey’s first pharmacies: the Grande Pharmacie Parisienne. In 1918-1919, Kemal, an orphan, decided to go to university. Kemal approached mr. Reboul about an apprenticeship. Kemal became a full-fledged partner in the pharmacy and mr. Reboul changed the name of the pharmacy to Kemal and Rebul pharmacy. Kemal changed the name to Rebul Pharmacy in 1938, to pay homage to this mentor who had learned him so much.
Atelier Rebul has combined pharmaceutical knowledge together with Arabic essential oils for over the past 122 years. All products are naturel and free of parabens. The brand combines French elegance and expertise to offer every customer the ultimate luxury feeling. At this moment, Atelier Rebul has about 13 shops in Turkey, 1 in Kopenhagen and soon 5 shops in Belgium.
I’m really excited about the opening and will tell you all about it!
